Accura Engineering has continued its investment in advanced manufacturing capability with the addition of a new Hurco DCX32i Double Column milling machine at its Centre of Excellence.
The investment forms part of our continued capability upgrade programme and strengthens Accura’s ability to support ongoing customer demand for larger machined components across the aerospace, defence, energy, and industrial sectors.
As demand for large-scale machining continues to grow across UK manufacturing, many OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers are facing increasing pressure around capacity, lead times and supply chain resilience. In response, Accura has invested in the Hurco DCX32i to provide greater flexibility, increased throughput and reliable machining support for larger projects.
The new machine offers:
- 5 metre X-axis travel
- 1 metre Y-axis travel
- 0 metre Z-axis travel
- Capacity for components up to 4.5 metres in length
- 80kW high-torque spindle
- 10,000 RPM spindle speed
- 11 tonne table load capacity
The new platform increases Accura’s machining capability from a previous maximum Y-axis capacity of 1700mm up to 2100mm, enabling the business to support significantly larger workpieces and more demanding machining applications.
Combined with Accura’s multi-axis machining expertise and AS9100-accredited processes, the new capability enables the business to machine larger, more complex parts while maintaining the precision and consistency required in regulated industries.
The Hurco DCX32i will also increase operational capacity by approximately 80 machining hours per week, providing additional flexibility for existing programmes and future project demand.
